PERU 29-30 August 2008 15th APEC Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Ministerial Meeting assesses the success of goals set at 14th meeting 

The town of Chiclayo hosts this 15th meeting of ministers responsible for small and medium enterprises within the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation nations will be assessing the results of initiatives launched at the 14th SME meeting. These were aimed at driving productivity and protecting the environment in the year between the 14th and 15th SME meetings.

The specific initiatives to help the sector grow and prosper included introducing more energy-efficient industry solutions, reducing transaction costs and red tape imposed by governments, and encouraging the use of e-commerce and online transactions with government.
