SPACE 16 August 2008 Partial eclipse of the Moon to be visible from wide swath of Earth

On 16 Aug the Moon passes through northern portion of earth's shadow, almost becoming total. This second of two lunar eclipses in 2008, it will be visible to Asia and Australia as well as the Americas, Europe and Africa.

In partial lunar eclipses, only a portion of the Moon passes through Earth's umbral shadow, yet the event will be easty to see with the unaided eye.
